At your first consultation lasting up to an hour, a detailed medical history including symptoms, history and information about your lifestyle will be asked and recorded. A full examination of your injury and related symptoms will incorporate a visual and clinical assessment, covering active and passive ranges of movement, muscle strength, direct palpation and specific assessment techniques to help diagnose and assess the severity of the injury. Also, booking an initial hour consultation means that there is time for specific treatment and advice to be given, as well as information on what is the most beneficial way for you to start looking after your symptoms.

After assessment, if physiotherapy treatment is not appropriate for you, we will be able to advise you on what to do next e.g. refer to general practitioner, consultant or other healthcare professional.
